The calendar below is based on the Wednesday collections for the west side of York Place (WR1 3DR postcodes).

Bins from households on the Tything side of York Place (WR1 3DS postcodes, bins at the rear in Leicester Street) are collected the following day, Thursday.

Bins should be put out by 7am on the collection day and are usually collected some time between early morning and noon.

Collection days may change over the Christmas and New Year period. Single Bank Holidays and Easter generally have no effect on the collection schedule.

BROWN bins (compostable garden waste, a seasonal subscription service) are not collected during the winter months. Collections restart in March and continue fortnightly until early December.

If your bin has been missed for collection, contact https://www.worcester.gov.uk/recycling-waste/missed-bins as soon as possible to arrange collection.

An official page for looking up bin days in Worcester by postcode and house number can be found here. Note that it is ambiguous for several local roads - there are cases where bins can be left at the rear or front access to an address and could then be collected on different days. Also (as of late 2024) the page gives the wrong day altogether for collections from most addresses on the WR1 3DS (Tything Side) of York Place.

As a result of feedback from residents on the Tything side of York Place, we can confidently say all black and green bins put out in Leicester Street, whether for York Place addresses or not, are actually collected on Thursdays. This is because that is when the bin truck actually goes down there... 

Bin replacement. In early 2026 there were press reports that Worcester City Council will be charging for replacement bins. This apparently does not apply to bins damaged by their trucks or operatives, or bins that have been vandalised or stolen. At the start of February there appears to be no official statement of how this will work in practice.
