The YPRA AGM took place at the United Reformed Church on Albany Terrace at 7:30pm on Sunday 26th April.

After the AGM there was a much appreciated cocktail tasting session courtesy of JJ.

The spring street clean took place on the morning of Saturday 11th April.

The Council road sweeper was in attendance and this year all cars were moved out of York Place so that it could get to the whole road surface from crown to gutters.

York Place residents with valid MiPermit were allowed to park on the Pitchcroft (Swan Theatre) Car Park until noon. 

A very warm autumn greeting to all in York Place, new or established. Hopefully you have all survived the rain without much disturbance. I did notice some extra waterproofing over basement windows — fingers crossed no damage has occurred.

Brighten up York Place with cheerful seasonal displays. Prizes will be awarded for the most original and entertaining displays.

Judging will take place during the week commencing 14 December.

This year's floral display competition was judged on the 28th of June.

Third prize, a bottle of wine, went to Ben and Jade at number 17. The judge commented "A flamboyant take on traditional planting with particularly impressive hanging baskets. A broad range of colourful flowers set against a variety of greens".

At the AGM in Spring 2025 Nick Joyce, conservation architect and one-time resident of York Place gave a presentation about the architectural history of the street.

He's kindly made the presentation available to us as a two downloadable documents, the text and the images (large file).

In late January 2025 a public access portable defibrillator was installed outside the United Reformed Church at the end of York Place on Albany Terrace.

This device can be used alongside CPR to attempt to restart a person's heart after a cardiac arrest.

Black or green bins are collected Wednesdays on the west side of York Place, Thursdays on the east side (bins in Leicester Street).

Fortnightly BROWN bin collections will restart in March.
