Autumn News 2025
A very warm autumn greeting to all in York Place, new or established. Hopefully you have all survived the rain without much disturbance. I did notice some extra waterproofing over basement windows — fingers crossed no damage has occurred.
As we gather pace before Christmas it is a good time to have a bit of a clean up on the street. Flowering window boxes and baskets that have gone over, leaves that seem to find their way onto the street (even though we don’t have any trees), pumpkins and the last of the summer weeds all need putting to bed before winter. The YPRA are not planning an organised street clean this side of the festive break so please could we all attend to our own frontages (and possibly our neighbour’s too) so that we can keep York Place looking loved.
Call out for prizes! Exciting news that the Quiz is taking place at the URC Albany Terrace on Friday evening ( 21st). This year, as well as the fish and chips, general frivolity and the opportunity to broaden your education, there will be a raffle! The YPRA is donating some gifts but if anyone would like to donate more please see Lynne (No 35) or Karen (No 16) before Thursday. Proceeds from the quiz and raffle are split between YPRA and a local charity.
Once again we are having a joint Christmas Caro! Singing evening with the Britannia Square residents. Thursday 18" Dec at URC Albany Terrace. Mulled wine and nibbles and an additional bar to prolong the festivities after Worcester Concert Brass have gone. Collection will be to Acorn’s Children’s Hospice. Further details to follow. This year we are also judging the winner of the Christmas/Festive VVindow competition and encouraging a street walk to admire the displays. A scrummy hamper will be rolling to the winner!
Finally the half price offer is still open on membership (and you have got to be in the YPRA to win the competitions).
Best - Karen and the YPRA team.
