Local automatic defibrillator outside the United Reformed Church.

Cross on wall and defibrillator cabinet.

In late January 2025 a public access portable defibrillator was installed outside the United Reformed Church at the end of York Place on Albany Terrace.

This device can be used alongside CPR to attempt to restart a person's heart after a cardiac arrest.

If someone is in cardiac arrest, call 999 and start CPR. If you're on your own, do not interrupt CPR to go and find a defibrillator. If it's possible, send someone else to find one.

You do not need training to use the automatic defibrillator. Here is a simple guide to the basics of using one, with short animated video...

To get the defibrillator out of the cabinet you will have to ring 999 to get the lock code. Then follow the instructions from the 999 operator and with the defibrillator.

The defibrillator was given by student paramedic Amy and installed by Gert from Willox electrical who gifted his time and materials.
