This year there were many superb displays, featuring tubs, hanging baskets and window boxes, or in some cases all three. Our guest judge was very impressed and found it difficult to choose just three winners from such a strong field, with all displays having clear merits.

However, the final choice was four households;

No. 17, Jade & Ben - last year's winners - were Highly Commended for "...particularly interesting collection of blooms in window box".

No. 25, Lydia & Andy were in third position with "...very pretty display on two levels plus a hanging basket that looked especially attractive against the pink door". (And also toned well with Lydia's Crocs...)

No. 39, Barbara came in second; "This simple and very effective colour scheme worked from the upper window through to the basement light. The hanging basked was abundant with white petunias - impressive."

No. 29, Jude was in first position; "This sophisticated design of upper and lower window boxes plus a hanging basket used subtle colours that coordinated beautifully. It had been well maintained and it was lovely  to see the bees enjoying the blooms."

As ever, congratulations are not only due to the very deserving winners but also to all who have improved the street scene with flowers and foliage - again a YPRA activity benefits us all and helps make York Place a delight to live in.
